Description: This piece portrays a woman performing a traditional Burmese dance “Zat Pwe”, which is an all-night performance that combines melodrama, slapstick, and traditional dances.
These seasonal events are staged in enclosed temporary bamboo theaters and are typically part of annual fundraising activities at pagoda festivals.
Burma is nicknamed the Golden Land due to the number of gold temples that can be found around the country, which complement the natural beauty it exudes as well.

Description: The words of protest are written all over his face to show that despite every obstacle he faces, he will still stand to fight for his country with the strength of his ancestors. The same words have been chanted by many generations and still is chanted in the streets of Myanmar to this day. The word, “our rights”, is written on his cheeks with red to emphasize the lack of actual rights within the country. The multi-colored silhouettes represent the diversity and unity of the country and how they are all coming together to rebel against the tyrant military regime. The use of younger protesters is to show that the forefront of this Spring Revolution is led by Generation Z.
